Our Graduates

Megan Aguayo is a graduate of the University of Tampa where she majored in Communications. Meagan was selected as the Emma Bowen Foundation Student of the Year for 2012.  Her corporate partner was Bright House Networks and she accepted a position as a Creative Services Specialist with Bright House.

Jasmine Ahmed is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana, Champaign where she majored in Advertising.  Her corporate partner was Katz Media Group.  Jasmine has accepted a position as a Sales Assistant with FOX Chicago.

LeeSandra Alexandre graduated from Howard University with a degree in Journalism. Her corporate sponsor was Post-Newsweek Television Stations. LeeSandra was hired by WFTV, a Cox station in Orlando, as an Associate Producer.

Akeem Anderson is a graduate of Florida A&M University where he majored in newspaper journalism. His corporate sponsor was WJBK Fox 2 in Detroit. He is currently a Senior Account Executive with Edelman, Cramer-Krasselt, an ad agency in Chicago.

Morgan Anderson is a graduate of Hampton University where she majored in public relations. Her corporate sponsor was Fox Television and she is currently works for NBCUniversal as a Global Lease Administrator and Portfolio Manager in Global Real Estate.

Adeela Aslam graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Journalism. Her corporate sponsor was Comcast. She worked for Katz Media in Detroit, Michigan, as a sales assistant and is now an Associate Account Executive at Jack Morton Worldwide.

Jamie Atkinson is a graduate of Howard University in Television Production. Her corporate sponsor was Comcast Cable. Jamie worked as a production assistant with ABC 7 WJLA News Channel 8 in Washington, DC.  Jamie is now employed as an audio visual technician at LB&B Associates Inc. in Washington, DC.

Mena Badros is a graduate of Kutztown University where he earned a degree in Electronic Media with a minor in Economics. His corporate sponsor was Susquehanna Media and Comcast. He was senior marketing coordinator for Comcast Spotlight in West Chester, PA. He is currently a managing partner of Step Above.

Tiffany Bain is a graduate of Florida A&M University with a major in Public Relations. Her corporate sponsor was Comcast. She was a social media writer and researcher for the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council in Washington, DC. and is now working as government affairs intern at Net Communications. She is also pursuing her Master’s in Political Communication at American University in Washington, D.C.

Candace Barnes is a graduate of Montclair State University where she majored in communications. Her corporate sponsor was Comcast and she was hired to work as a Sales Associate by FOX.

Carolyn Batts is a graduate of Fisk University where she majored in marketing. Her corporate sponsor was Comcast and she worked at Comcast as IS Project Coordinator in Information Systems. She continues to work as Business Service Specialist at Comcast Cable.

Michael Benjamin is a graduate of Howard University where he majored in English. His corporate sponsor was Comcast. He worked as a Production Assistant with Madison Square Garden Varsity and was selected for the Page Program. He worked at the 2012 Olympics in London and is currently a Production Assistant with NBC Sports Group.

Bobbie Bencio is a graduate of Boston University where she earned a degree in Journalism. Her corporate sponsor was NBC 4 in Washington, DC where she worked as an Associate Producer. Giovani Benitez is a graduate of Florida International University where he majored in Sociology and Anthropology. Giovani was our 2008 Student of the Year. His corporate partner was WFOR-CBS Miami. He continued to work WFOR and is an Emmy Award winning Investigative Producer and On-air Reporter. He currently is an ABC News Correspondent for all platforms.

Gabriela Bird worked as a Producer with Emerging Media at Comcast, her corporate sponsor.  She is now working as Marketing Specialist with Comcast Spotlight in West Palm Beach, Florida. She graduated from Florida International University with a degree in Television Production.

Kellee Blades is a graduate of Spelman College where she majored in English. Her corporate partner was ABC. She worked as a sales assistant with Fox 5 in New York, and then with NBC as a Promo Scheduling Assistant.  Kellee is currently Rights & Clearances Coordinator at CBS News in New York City.

Kim Bowser is an honors graduate of Temple University. She completed her Foundation work/study program at NBC News. She was selected for the NBC Page program in New York and worked for several years on the Maury Show as a Production Assistant, Legal and Accounting Coordinator. Kim worked as an Administrator with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in the Legal and Government Affairs department and worked as Project Coordinator for the TV and Digital Video Content department at the CPB. Kim earned her Masters in Communications from Johns Hopkins University and currently works as Project Manager, Public Awareness Initiative at Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Laura Bragg is a graduate of the University of Central Florida where she majored in radio and TV production. Her corporate partner was Post Newsweek and she continues to work at WJXT in Jacksonville, FL as a Promotions Producer.

Matthew Braham, a graduate of Georgia State University with a major in Speech Communication was accepted into the NBC page program. His corporate sponsor was Comcast.

Juliana Broste is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder where she majored in Advertising. Her corporate sponsor was CBS. She works as a freelance journalist. She owns her own company "TravelingJules Productions" and has worked for Lonely Planet, Travel Channel, Food Network, Rand McNally, USA TODAY, Viator, CBS, MHD / MTV, Vail Resorts & CNN Airport Network.

Vanessa Bryant Nwankwo is a graduate of Ohio State University where she earned a degree in Communications. Vanessa was an Senior Media Planner with the Mullen Advertising Agency in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Vanessa’s corporate sponsor was Insight Communications. She now is working as Regional Account Executive with Comcast Spotlight.

Jermaine Buchanan is a graduate of Hunter College where he majored in Media Arts. He served as a Senior Sales Assistant and Market Research Analyst for Petry Media Corporation and worked as Sports Market Analyst at Nielsen.  Jermaine currently continues to work at Nielsen as a Senior Analyst. Jermaine’s corporate sponsor was NBC.

Jackie Burgos is a graduate of Pace University where she earned a degree in Accounting. Her corporate partner was BMI. She participated in the prestigious two-year financial management program at General Electric, the parent of NBC Universal.  She later worked as a financial analyst in New Media/Business Development with HBO. Recently Jackie was accepted into Harvard's MBA program and spent a summer working as a pre-MBA intern at Univision.

Lauren Burnett is a graduate of the University of Southern California where she majored in Communications. Her corporate partner was ABC and she will continue to work at ABC as a Media Associate in ABC Television’s Media Relations Department.

Rhonesha Byng was selected as the Foundation’s 2011 Student of the Year and was accepted into the coveted NBC News Associates program. Rhonesha is currently a freelance multimedia journalist and has a website, HerAgenda.com. She graduated from Depauw University where she majored in Communications. Her corporate sponsor was NBC.

Michele Byrd is a graduate of Hampton University where she majored in Journalism & Mass Communications. Her corporate sponsor was Turner Broadcasting. Michelle completed the NBC Page Program and is was an Ad Sales Marketing Assistant with NBC Universal Sports. she was promoted to marketing manager of NBC Sports, Brand Management and Research Innovations Team.  Michele recently began a position with CBS Interactive in San Francisco as Product Marketing Manger, Tech Games and Lifestyle.  Michele was selected as a mentee in the prestigious mentorship program for young women in business, co-sponsored by New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, the Partnership of New York City and the Council for Urban Professionals.

Zyanya Chan graduated cum laude from Barnard College of Columbia University with a degree in English (writing). She has an MBA from American International College. Her corporate sponsor was the Television Bureau of Advertising. She is currently a Digital Marketing and Social Media Manager with Multimedia Solutions Corporation. Zyanya was selected as a mentee in the prestigious mentorship program for young women in business, co-sponsored by New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, the Partnership of New York City and the Council for Urban Professionals.

Mi Chang is a graduate of the University of Miami where she majored in Finance and Information Systems. Her corporate sponsor was NBC. Mi served as a compensation analyst with NBC in New York City, a senior compensation analyst with The McGraw Hill Company, and is currently a compensation manager at HBO.

Luis Chavez is a graduate of the University of LaVerne where he earned a degree in Broadcasting. Luis joined KNBC - Los Angeles, his former corporate sponsor, as a Field Producer in sports and recently won an Emmy for Live Special Events - his work in his new position with Time Warner Cable Deportes.

Katelin Chow is a graduate of the University of Washington where she majored in Jornalism and Asian American Studies.  Her corporate sponsor was Comcast.  Katelin was hired by WGBH - Boston as a production assistant for the local TV news show, Greater Boston

 

 

Stephanie Claytor graduated from Syracuse University with a triple major in Broadcast Journalism, Spanish and International Relations. Her corporate sponsor was Oak Hill Partners. She is currently a multimedia journalist in Ottumwa, IA at KTVO-TV.

Johann Conforme is a graduate of Hunter College and was sponsored by ABC Sports while in the Foundation’s program. Johann has served as a Senior Designer with Saatchi and Saatchi in Los Angeles and was creative director with Ogilvy West, in Culver City, CA. He is currently the Head of the Creative Team at Phenomenon Creative Agency in Los Angeles.  Johann has been singularly responsible for arranging sponsorships for the Foundation's web site.

Alex Coppola is a graduate of Stonehill College where he majored in Communications and Spanish. He was selected as the Emma Bowen Foundation Student of the Year for 2012. Alex accepted a position as a Digital Media Coordinator with ABC/ESPN, his corporate sponsor, and was promoted to Associate Producer.

Adrianne Cordero is a graduate of New York University where she majored in Media, Culture and Communication. Adrienne was a recipient of the 2010 “Student of the Year” Award. Her corporate partner was Comcast. She was hired full time by Comcast as a coordinator in Media Sales for Comcast Spotlight and was promoted to supervisor, National Business Development Team for Comcast Spotlight.  Adrianne recently was promoted to Manager in Ad Sales Support.

Cassandra Custodio is a graduate of Syracuse University where she majored in Business. Her corporate partner was Scripps Networks. She was hired as an assistant in Primetime Sales for CBS and is currently a Sales Planner with Discovery Communications.

Alana Davis earned both her undergraduate in Economics and an MBA at Harvard College. Her corporate sponsor was NBC News. She was accepted into the MTV Summer Associates program and later worked full time as a Licensing Coordinator for Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products. She accepted a full time position with CBS as a Business Analyst and is currently a Corporate Strategy Associate with the Walt Disney Company.

Arnell Davis is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he majored in Marketing. His corporate partner was Arbitron. Arnell was a Market Resources Analyst for CBS following graduation and then joined HBO as a Program Advertising Coordinator in the Consumer Marketing Department.  He was recently promoted to Manager, Program Advertising.

Chardaé Davis is a graduate of Northwestern University where she majored in Journalism and International Studies. Her corporate sponsor was WTVJ-NBC 6 in Miramar, Florida. She worked as an associate producer for NBC’s “Today in South Florida” following graduation. Chardaé participated in the NBC Local Media Sales Associates Program in Dallas/Ft. Worth and worked as a Media Sales Coordinator for CBS Radio.

Britny DeAnda was hired by her corporate sponsor, Wisconsin Public Television, to work as an Associate Broadcast Specialist. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Radio, TV & Film.

Joseph Diaz is a graduate of New York University where he majored in Journalism. He is currently a field producer with ABC Primetime and 20/20. Joseph won an Emmy for a Primetime segment on children with Tourette Syndrome and a Peabody Award for his work with Diane Sawyer on the documentary, “A Hidden America: Children of the Mountains. Desmond Dickerson is a graduate of Georgia State University where he majored in marketing. His corporate sponsor was Georgia Public Television and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. He worked as an Interactive Marketing Specialist at NeboWEB.

Timothy Dorsey is a graduate of Valdosta State University where he earned a B.S. in Computer Science. His sponsoring company was Turner. TJ worked at Turner’s Game Tap as a game tester and quality control lead, moved to the Cartoon Network to work with their on-line gaming team, and is currently a systems engineer with Turner’s Video Platform Services Group.

Bryan Dumas is a graduate of Syracuse University where he majored in Broadcast Journalism. He was a 2007 Student of the Year nominee. Bryan worked at NBC Sports in New York as a production assistant and is a two-time Emmy Award winning journalist. He was a Production Assistant at MSNBC and is now an Associate Producer.

Wendy Eav is a graduate of UCLA where she majored in Chinese.  Her corporate sponsor was ABC.  After completing a post-college summer internships with Hollywood Records, Wendy returned to ABC to work in the Disney Music Group as a Sales Coordinator.

Margarita Peralta Eberline is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. After a year working on the film “Spanglish”, she was accepted into Nielsen Media’s management development program. She was a Client Services Associate with Nielsen in Atlanta, GA and is currently a market research consultant. Her corporate partner was NBC.

Katrice Eborn is a graduate of American University where she earned a degree in Print Journalism. Her sponsoring company was C-SPAN where she continued to work as a web producer after graduation. She is currently with Bloomberg working as a web producer.

Erica Edwards is a graduate of St. John’s University where she majored in journalism. Her corporate partner was the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and she interned at WYNC, a public radio station. Erica was hired full-time by WNYC as a Community Affairs Ambassador and is attending CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.

Britney Empty is a graduate of Stevenson University with a degree in Film, Video and Theater. Her corporate sponsor was Comcast and she was hired as an Ad Sales Coordinator at Comcast.  Britney is now working at Comcast Spotlight as Senior Sales Support Specialist.

Priscilla Escobar is a graduate of California State University in Los Angeles where she majored in TV, Film and Media Studies. Her corporate sponsor was ABC and she continues to work at ABC Entertainment as an Executive Assistant to the Excecutive Vice President of Program Planning and Scheduling.

Rodolfo Escueta is a graduate of Boston University with a degree in Marketing. His corporate sponsor was KNBC and he is currently a Senior Administrator, Video Production for Warner Brothers in Burbank, California.

Michael Estimé is a graduate of Central Michigan University where he majored in Meteorology. He was the recipient of the Foundation’s 2009 “Student of the Year” Award. Michael work as a meteorologist with WMGT in Macon, GA and more recently was promoted to chief meteorologist at WMGT. His corporate sponsor was CBS. Ayesha Faines is a graduate of Yale University where she majored in African Americana Studies. Her corporate partner was NBC News and she is currently a reporter with WJXT in Jacksonville, FL. Ayesha participated in the National Association of Broadcasters’ Connections Mentoring program.

Mesfin Fekadu is a graduate of St. Peter’s College where he majored in Communications and Math. His corporate partner was MSNBC and he is currently a production coordinator for Entertainment News with Associated Press.

Amin Fernandez is a graduate of Columbia University where he majored in cinema studies. His corporate partner was Time Warner Cable and he has recently joined HBO in their Information System department.

Carolyn Githieya is a graduate of Georgia State University where she majored in Communications and Marketing. Her corporate sponsor was Comcast. She worked at CBS Radio as a sales assistant and is currently with MTV Networks as a coordinator for content distribution and marketing.

Andre Grier is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he earned a degree in marketing and management. His corporate partner was the Weather Channel. He is currently a sales assistant for the Content Distribution & Marketing department at MTV Networks.

Henry Greenich earned his undergraduate degree in Media Management from Hampton University and his law degree from the University of Baltimore, School of Law. His corporate partner was ABC. Henry worked in positions at Clear Channel and Citigroup before attending law school. While in law school, he worked as a legal intern at the Federal Communications Commission in the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, the Wireline Competition Bureau., and FCC Commissioner Meredith Attwell Baker’s office. He is currently liaison to the Assistant Secretary of the Department of Transportation working on spectrum-related issues.

Lorenzo Hall is a graduate of University of Missouri-Columbia where he earned a degree in Journalism. His corporate partner was NBC in Washington, DC. Lorenzo worked as reporter at WTVR, a CBS affiliate in Richmond, VA, and was recently promoted to weekend anchor.

Jenna Hanchard is a graduate of Syracuse University where she earned a degree in History. She participated with the Olympic Internship program at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Her corporate sponsor was NBC. She now works for CBS in Binghamton, NY.

Rodney Hawkins was accepted into the CBS News program and will be covering the upcoming Presidential Campaigns for CBS and the National Journal. He graduated from Howard University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Fox was his corporate sponsor.

Becky Ho received a degree in Political Science and Asian American Studies from the UCLA. Randy Hu graduated from University of California, San Diego,  with a degree in Management Science. ABC was his corporate sponsor and he is currently working as a Research Analyst at the Disney Channel.

Je-Anne Jarrett Barry is a graduate of Duke University where she earned a degree in Public Policy. Je-Anne was a researcher and production assistant on the documentary team, Focal Point, at WRAL in Raleigh, NC. Ashley Johnson received her degree with honors in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and her Masters in Journalism from Northwestern University. Ashley participated in the NBC Page Program, worked as a reporter at WPTZ, the Hearst station in Burlington, VT, and is currently a multi-media reporter and fill-in anchor at PHL-17 in Philadelphia.

Malcolm Johnson is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he majored in kinesiology. His corporate sponsor was the Corporation of Public Broadcasting. After working in the Athletic Departments of his alma mater and American University, Malcolm has returned to the media. He worked as a Project Administrator on Aribitron’s Respondent Services–PPM Control Team and was recently promoted to Associate Project Analyst with the PPM Control Team.

Will Johnson is a graduate of the University of Miami where he majored in Video and Film. His corporate sponsor was Cox Communications and he continues to work at Cox. He was recently promoted to a production support tech in the Campaign Fulfillment Center.

Kameko Jones is an honors graduate of American University with a degree in International Relations. Kameko was a co-recipient of the Foundation’s 2005 “Student of Year” award. Her corporate sponsor was NBC News. Following graduation, she spent a year as a desk editor at NBC News’ London Bureau. She returned to New York as an associate producer with NBC News in New York and was recently promoted to assignment editor.

Brian Knox is a graduate of Northwestern University where he majored in broadcasting journalism. His corporate sponsor was NBC. He is currently an assistant producer at KXAS NBC 5 in Dallas.

Niija Kuykendall is a graduate of Brown University where she majored in anthropology and film. Her corporate sponsor was ABC. Niija’s early career was spent at King World as an executive assistant to the president. She later worked as an editorial assistant in Corporate Relations at CBS in New York. Her career in film includes story editor for Beacon Pictures and Creative Executive, Production, for 20th Century Fox. She is currently a production executive at Warner Brothers Pictures.
