seeking a Staff Accountant to support our our 6 New York stations. This
position reports directly to the Market Controller of CBS Radio New York.
• Perform month-end and year-end
closing activities including the preparation of journal entries and general
ledger account analysis and reconciliations.
• Report monthly
financial performance and variance analysis.
• Compile and calculate
monthly sales commission statements.
• Ensure the station is
complying with Sarbanes-Oxley Act rules and regulations.
• Participate in the
forecasting and budgeting processes.

Represent station and FOX7Austin.com to local advertisers. Develop new-to-station and web business. Maximize billing on existing account list. Write, prepare and deliver sales presentations to advertisers. Negotiate business with agency buyers. Cultivate new-to-station advertisers through cold-calling and aggressive prospecting. Prior media advertising sales experience (minimum 1-2 years) required and television sales experience preferred. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with One Domain, Scarborough, Wide Orbit and CMR is a plus. Excellent people skills. Good driving record.
Television broadcast engineer needed to operate and maintain a wide variety of computer-based and IP-enabled equipment throughout the TV station, in support of News and Production operations. To be a successful candidate for this position, you should have formal training in computer science, electronics, or broadcast engineering, or a minimum of 5 years of prior experience in one of these fields. Additionally, good problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a technical team are required. A professional certification, such as a General Class FCC license, CompTIA Network +, SBE CBNT/CBNE, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft MCSA/MCSE while not required, would be a major plus. Local travel is occasionally necessary for this position, along with the ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings and holidays. The ability to work from time to time on short (>12ft) ladders, and to lift up to 40 lbs. is also required.
