Fuse Media is currently seeking an experienced production executive to manage all aspects of production for its Content Studio, including budget management for all original programming. The ideal candidate will serve as executive-in-charge (EIC) in addition to being a physical production expert with the proven ability to produce and manage complex in-house and/or 3rd party productions. The ideal candidate will also have proven success in building and maintaining strategic partnerships in the entertainment industry resulting in a wide network of business contacts. Additionally, this person will have extensive production management experience in linear and digital series, including expert scheduling and budgeting ability. This position is based in our Glendale, CA headquarters and reports to the Vice President of Content Studios.
THE KEY BITS (PER FUNCTION):
EXECUTIVE IN CHARGE
- Manage and approve all production and post schedules in accordance with approved budgets and delivery deadlines
- Partner with clients and the in-house creative teams to oversee the acquisition and execution of all production and post-production projects
- Track and report potential breakage and savings; negotiate client and vendor agreements
- Review and approve all production-related expenses
- Enforce field protocol for obtaining appropriate rights and clearances; confirm filming requirements prior to each production (i.e., filming notices, appearance & location releases, etc.)
- Oversee and approve the production bible for individual productions
- Create payment schedules based on cash flow
- Work with show EP's on equipment selection, etc.
- Compile necessary documentation for Finance to identify and track tax incentives and related expenses
- Lead and/or consult on complex programming projects and initiatives across multiple business units
- Coordinate and track deliverables across multiple functions/projects related to programming
- Provide strategic guidance, solve problems, mediate programming conflicts and proactively deal with issues before they require the attention of senior management.
- Stay current on product knowledge, pitches and technology related to programming
HEAD OF PRODUCTION
- Oversee production process from initial development through delivery of series by the content studio
- Partner with creative, finance, business/legal affairs, and content strategy teams to create production plans that support creative goals while balancing business needs
- Oversee production management across all series: budget review, production schedules, cost report review
- Monitor the execution of programming plans and progress of individual productions against such plans
- Manage development of preliminary budgets with production finance, production schedules, critical assumptions and serve as a key contributor in greenlight process
- Solution-oriented approach to solving internal and external challenges
- Ensure budgets across all shows are maintained accordingly
- Develop and implement a variety of budget scenarios when needed
- Collaborate with producers and studio team in managing entire production process, ensuring studio production protocols (COVID, safety, production manual) are followed at all times
- Continuously evaluate strategic workflows and recommend efficiencies for production enhancement across all cross-functional departments

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
- 10+ years’ production experience with a minimum 5-7 years in an EIC role or head of production position within television or film; experience in new media highly preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent related work experience required
- Extensive production management experience in original series, including expert scheduling and budgeting ability; with strong attention to detail
- Must be able to generate high-quality material in a fast-paced environment; manage multiple projects at once and flexibly respond to rapidly changing priorities in order to meet the dynamics of a competitive marketplace
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to keep colleagues informed in a timely manner
- Ability to present and lead discussions with senior executives
- Excellent interpersonal and managerial skills with the ability to interact with all personality types and work cross-functionally with peers, subordinates, superiors, and key external clients across all business units
- Informal leadership qualities with the ability to manage teams and drive change effectively across all functional areas
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strategic relationships; having a wide network is a plus
- Able to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends based on production needs
