Manager, Research

Global Strategy Group works at the intersection of politics, business, and causes, conducting research for national political leaders, Fortune 100 clients, and non-profits.  Our research practice is rooted in politics with extensive experience on electoral campaigns for clients such as Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (NY) and Jacky Rosen (NV), along with multiple Governors, and six new members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Our team has successfully worked with corporate and advocacy clients to navigate public affairs issues and build their reputation. These clients include Comcast Corporation, Airbnb, Uber, and The Rockefeller Foundation.

 

You should…

  • Have in-depth experience working on both qualitative and quantitative research

As a GSG Manager in research, you will…

  • Manage complex qualitative and quantitative research projects from beginning to end
  • Conceptualize and produce client-ready survey questionnaires and qualitative research screeners and guides
  • Conceptualize and produce analyses of research projects – both written analyses and visual PowerPoint presentations
  • Establish and cultivate client relationships to successfully manage day-to-day needs and expectations
  • Oversee and coordinate research projects by actively keeping track of project details, organizing tasks, and keeping team's adherence to timelines without prompting
  • Take an active role in project fielding, i.e., review partials, provide edits, discuss weighting targets with data team, actively troubleshoot project fielding issues
  • Train or oversee junior staff on the execution of projects
  • Work on new business proposals, including producing, editing, and delivering presentations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus
  • 4-5 years of experience in public affairs, corporate and/or political research
  • Experience in executing every stage of a research project
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • A proven ability to successfully juggle multiple assignments
  • Ability to work efficiently and quickly produce high-quality work product
  • Experience with the marketing and new business process (i.e. writing proposals and producing pitch decks, developing methodologies and research programs, producing thought leadership content, etc.)
  • Experience with client-facing responsibilities, including leading client engagements
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate and maintain strong working relationships
  • Strong attention to detail and experience with catching mistakes and being detail-oriented
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel Word)

 

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience/coursework with statistics and advanced quantitative methods
  • Experience moderating focus groups
  • Interest or experience using digital research tools a plus - including social media and digital analytics
  • Experience with infographics

Data Election Assistant

Are you passionate about polling and politics? Do you have a knack for data and a keen eye for detail? If so, GSG is looking for you! We are seeking a Data Election Assistant to help our team during the 2020 election cycle. Working alongside a highly accomplished team in a fast-paced environment, our Data Election Assistant will be working on electoral and issue campaigns that are focused on the 2020 election.

 

This position will start at the beginning of October, so please keep that in mind as you prepare to apply.

 

The Data Election Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Proofing data reports such as toplines, crosstabs, PowerPoint slides, and memos
  • Checking online and telephone survey programming
  • Programming online surveys
  • Building PowerPoint slides
  • Building maps using GIS software
  • Pulling demographic data and developing quota targets
  • Pulling sample
  • Building out Excel spreadsheets using demographic data
  • Conducting background research
  • Coding qualitative survey data into quantitative codes
  • Monitoring live phone surveys
  • Assisting in quality control of quantitative and qualitative research projects

 

Candidates should…

  • Be extremely detail-oriented
  • Have experience and comfort working with numbers and large datasets
  • Be a motivated, responsible, self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction
  • Have a strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Have the ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Have experience with a programming language, such as R, Python, or SQL

Bloomberg Radio/TV is looking for a Radio Syndication reporter to write, produce, and deliver on-air business reports for Bloomberg-affiliated radio station around the nation. Radio Syndication reporters act as editors for "Reporter Appearances and NewsFeeds." In this role, you will ensure that Bloomberg maximizes use of its 2700 reporters and analysts in providing special reports for our affiliates. You will work with other members of the Syndication team, the Television Assignment Desk, and the Radio Programming team to coordinate appearances of Bloomberg editorial staff on Bloomberg Radio affiliates. You will be responsible for tracking what major stories Bloomberg News, Bloomberg Intelligence, BGOV, and BNA reporters and analysts are covering, and maintains a daily plan for their availability. You will send frequent "two-way" availability emails to Bloomberg Radio affiliates and coordinates appearances. You will also coordinate Bloomberg Radio audio reports and disseminates them to affiliates in regular "Bloomberg NewsFeeds."

 

You'll need to have:

- A solid understanding, experience and knowledge of broadcast news

- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)

- Experience working with Adobe Audition or other audio editing software, along with newsroom software     systems in use at Bloomberg

- A minimum of three years industry experience

- The ability to thrive under the pressure of deadlines and breaking news

- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate production schedules

Cross Platform Business Development Account Executive

Staff Studio/Media Engineer

ABC7/WLS-TV Chicago is looking for a Full-Time Studio/Media Center Engineer.

Responsibilities

Duties include studio camera, studio audio, audio assist (A2/PA) and Media Center operation. Experience with satellite and microwave operations is also required. Media Center responsibilities include at times, preparing all pre-recorded program elements for air including: ingesting commercials and promos, and recording and segmenting programming for later playback.

Basic Qualifications

The candidate must have 2-3 years experience working with various HD formats (XDCam and File based). The candidate must have knowledge of ITX Automation, router systems, CC encoding, and satellite control operation. The successful candidate must also be able to troubleshoot in last-minute situations; perform duties quickly and efficiently; be able to work with minimal supervision; and have good communication skills dealing with various internal departments.
