Maintenance Engineer

The technical equipment and physical plant of the station requires routine maintenance and repair to keep it in correct operating condition. Situations also arise that require emergency or short notice conditions and station maintenance staffs are available to meet those needs. Keeping the station on the air and operating properly is the responsibility of the Maintenance Engineers.










Responsibilities: Include working closely with the Editorial team to conceptualize/produce high profile creative on-line material; performing duties of on-line writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing and editorial gathering; facilitating the editorial gathering of local web news, gleaning information from various sources and contacts and reproducing the above material into strong compelling web material; interfacing with Editorial managers and supervisors from the Broadcasting side of the newsroom to create a cohesive working atmosphere, managing the delivery of content using new distribution platforms; producing and posting to the station’s various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.




Multiple Media Producer

ideastream®, Northeast Ohio’s Public Media organization, has exciting opportunities for Multiple Media Producers. ideastream is seeking  creative individuals with strong production skills to join our staff.


The ideal candidate will shoot, assemble and edit video and audio segments and contribute to ideastream’s production of daily television and radio programming. Works in other media as needed for producing stories and segments.

POSITION SUMMARY (Scope & Purpose)

Our news department is looking for a talented and creative journalist to join our growing online news team producing content for and our social media channels.  We’re looking for someone with a passion for news, and the ability to tell a complete and understandable story.


Mine a wide variety of sources for relevant content.   Select, research and write original stories and viral content.

Capture, edit and post images and video.

Represent WQAD professionally on social media. 

Develop sources and review contributions from others for publication.

Identify content opportunities that complement our on-air news.   

Work independently and demonstrate solid judgment for content selection and priorities.

Work under frequently tight deadlines, and have the ability to react to breaking news situations quickly and accurately.

Other duties as assigned.
