Reporter/Host

Reporter/Host

CPR News is hiring a reporter and host. If you have a fast news metabolism, a drive to deliver for audiences across Colorado, and an interest in radio hosting, this is for you.

People across the state rely on CPR News to be present, authoritative and human on the radio and online. This reporter/host will be part of a small team that gets the day going to dig into news in the mornings, reporting and writing both for the radio and the website/newsletter. You’ll be given lots of opportunities to explore your curiosities and be the authoritative voice explaining news on all beats to Coloradans.

The reporter/host will also be trained and mentored in public radio hosting. CPR News has really great, experienced hosts for Morning Edition, All Things Considered, midday programming and weekends. All of these hosts will serve as guides to help this new reporter/host back up all of those shows as needed. Hosting days will not overlap with reporting days; we’ll make the schedule manageable!

This newsroom is dynamic, collaborative, creative and diverse. There are opportunities to collaborate with radio and online news experts, with the investigations team and the podcast team, with the daily talk show and on community outreach. We’re looking for our next great teammate, and we’re considering nontraditional applicants.

Apply today for this position that provides a variety of work and unique on-the-job training opportunities to get you to the next level in your journalism career. We’ll look forward to talking to you about the position and your strengths and goals.
