WRGB, in Albany, NY has an immediate opening for a Sports Director. This role is responsible for the day-to-day production in sports, including but not limited to, anchoring, reporting, writing and producing. In this position, you will determine the content and flow of sportscasts and sports programs, work with team to generate and write stories, and also develop content for our web site. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to anchoring, reporting, writing, and producing.

Skills:

• Produce and write compelling sportscasts and sports programs.
• Short and long range planning, including scheduling, setting up interviews and enterprising local, regional and national sports stories.
• Great organizational skills
• Solid sports news judgment
• Able to multitask and manage time in order to put together exciting and informative sportscasts
• Must have strong leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to execute strategies and goals in daily sportscasts and sports programs
• Flexibility and on-the-spot problems solving abilities are a must

Requirements:

Experience:

• 2 to 5 years previous anchoring and reporting experience
• Journalism degree preferred
• Previous anchoring and reporting experience
